    Guys,
Today I replaced my dinosaur of a receiver with the Philips DSR6000 DirecTiVo. On just about every channel, I get audio drop outs (regardless of format) and the picture freezes up and pixilates on me at random. I came across a post somewhere else that mentioned that Sony's DirecTiVo units may have exhibited similar problems due to compatibility issues with older LNB's. I installed my dish (dual LNB) back in '97 so I guess this would qualify as an "older" dish. My question is: Does this sound plausible, or could I have a defective TiVo unit?
One last thing, currently I am only using one of the tuners on the TiVo, and have not received the 2.5 update. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Gary,
I have a dual-LNB system that I installed back in Fall of '96 (maybe it was '97. One of those two), and just recently replaced my second receiver with a DSR6000. Haven't experienced anything like you're describing though. I assume that you've checked the signal strength on your transponders?

    Joel,
Signal strength is decent, usually coming in @ around 76 or so. I went ahead and picked up a 24" dish today because I'll be adding an HD box shortly anyway, so this will be my first shot at fixing the problem. I guess if that doesn't work, I'll take the TiVo back and birng home another.
