Pic of me and Robin Williams.Not going so well (1 Viewer)

All I want to do is scan a picture of Robin Williams and I but I have a huge blown up one (12x18) and it looks so grainy when I scan it.. All I want is a clear nice image in thumbnail so I can share it with you guys..It's a Scansoft scanner and I use the program Paperport plus MGI PhotoSuite III SE.. any suggestions?

Irfanview. Look it up on Download.com or some other files site. EXCELLENT simple Photo Editor.
I also like using Microsoft Photo Edit (comes with Office 97 and 2000, don't know about XP) for simple photo edits too.
