Philips Garbo Matchline or Panasonic L300U (PT-AE300) (1 Viewer)

I'm looking into buying a projector. It's my first one and I don't have a lot of money to spend.

Right now the choise is between the Philips Garbo Matchline and the Panasonic L300U. I've read some great reviews of the Panasonic but I can't seem to find any articles on the Garbo, let alone a comparison. So, is there anybody out there that has any experience with the Garbo? (I'm guessing it's a european projector with no real userbase in America, but I'm hoping somebody on my continent will read this.)

The Garbo is in the running because I can buy it at work, which has some advantages. The Panasonic because of the great reviews I've read.

With a contrast ratio of only 400:1, I am willing to bet that the Garbo does not have near the black level of the L300U...

The Garbo Matchline is a bit more expensive than the normal Garbo. You get a 500:1 contrast ratio for the extra money. (Ofcourse, will it be enough?)
