Anyone have experience with the "new" Philips DVDR 75 DVD recorder? I just purchased mine and am in the process of getting used to it.

The only significant(and frustrating) problem I'm having is trying to use the analog inputs on the back of the unit (EXT-1 and EXT-2)to record from another source other then my video camera. I keep getting a "no signal" error message when trying to record from my VHS tape deck or DVD player.

    Hey Bill..

I've got the "old" 75 (new ones just came out at Best Buy..the Philips model 615) and it (75) has served me well, other than a firmware upgrade I screwed up and was repaired under warranty.

As for your situation, have you pressed the MONITOR button on the remote then hit the arrow/CH up/down buttons to cycle through the inputs (EXT 1, 2 etc)? That's how I do it and get access to my Directv on EXT 1/

I have my VCR and Directivo connected to the back and have no problems.

    Hope that helps...

FYI, if anybody's looking -- Best Buy has the DVDR75 for $299 now. That's the best price I've seen in the last few months.
