anyone out there with a philips DVD727? I ask because the video on mine just died and I've only had the player since christmas. video doesn't play, but audio does. A customer service rep told me that it's cost me $29.99 plus whatever it will cost me to ship it... basically about 1/2 the cost of the player itself. Is it even worth it to pay this amount? because I don't want to pay around $40 or so for a player that will just crap out on me again.

also, is there any way I can fight this and get a free replacement? I feel so cheated that I have only watched 8 films before it did this!

has no one else encountered this problem? I take it that it may be worth it to pay the $30 exchange free then, eh?
