Price drop at Amazon on the Blu-ray set now.

ALSO: How does someone go about getting the replacement disc these days, for the AI-debacled episode?
Follow the instructions in this post in this thread:

MovieZyng is the distributor of the set and the replacement disc.

What is the issue with Lucy goes to Havanna? Did they use the shorter version?

I wonder if Paramount is looking into the other issues that have been found with this set out side of the AI issue that was corrected?

Do we know if Amazon’s stock is now the corrected version? The price is down to $58.49 and I had planned to get it when the price hit ~$50

just purchased this last week when it dropped down to $66. I haven't opened mine yet but will and check to see if it has the corrected disc. I'm presuming it doesn't since they set up the replacement disc plan and I would expect they have pre-existing inventory in stock still.

Going somewhat OT, but somewhat related: I've been reading reviews about the 2021 Being the Ricardos picture (mostly negative ones), and I happen to agree with them (just saw a few seconds of it from YouTube), and what I saw made me agree with what was said in the reviews (that Kidman and Bardem didn't do Lucy and Ricky very well).

One thing I wonder (and I know this is a thread about the Lucy Blu all-in-one, so bear with me here): given the overwhelming negative reaction to the 2021 Ricardos picture, if they made a similar picture about the original 60s ABC Addams Family and the people involved (Astin, Jones et al.), do you think they may get similar stars to be those people, and possibly call it Being the Addamses?

One aspect that I really loved in Being the Ricardos was the recreation of Desi's show (Desi's show, not Ricky's) in the nightclubs of the day. That style of nightclub was long gone by the time I was of age to go to a nightclub and the recreation really made me feel like I was there. The sound is fabulous in that scene - I watched it in my home theater and the brass just tore up my speakers (in a good way). Thrilling.

I was watching an episode of The Untouchables when something related to one of the hour-long Lucy-Desi episodes made me laugh out loud!

The 9th hour long episode, "Lucy Wants a Career," stars Paul Douglas and he and Lucy have a routine in the show that concerns their sponsor, a breakfast cereal called Korny Krinkles, that both Ricky & Little Ricky state how tired they are of having to eat that cereal for breakfast, because Lucy is trying to win a contest regarding it. To my surprise, in an episode of The Untouchables I was watching, Eliot Ness walks into a small neighborhood store, a market, looking for some information, and there on the side wall are several boxes of Korny Krinkles. LoL! Someone at Desilu was having a good time!

It's The Untouchables Season 3, Episode 4: "The Genna Brothers."

Wasn't the name of that cereal in that episode called Wakey Flakies?

Just guessing, but if Desilu had to make cereal box props, they would be kept afterwards in the prop dept. Later if a Desilu series needed props for a grocery scene, of course they are going to use what they already had and not spend money on new props.

I’ve seen props and set-pieces used on Mission Impossible in 1966 used on Star Trek and visa versa. :)

A more recent example is a paperback book created for a first season Star Trek The Next Generation in 1988 was used on a sitcom in about 2020. I learn about this book re-use in a prop replica forum. But the thread never names the sitcom.

It is fun to notice these little things.

After some searching I found you are right. The contest Lucy was trying to win was for a racehorse for Little Ricky, because what kid doesn't want a race horse...sponsored by a cereal company? That was the episode "Lucy Wins a Racehorse."

Lucy promotes Wakey Flakies breakfast cereal in “Lucy Wants a Career” which has the same artwork on the box as Korny Krinkles. The same prop cereal boxes later turned up on several episodes of “The Lucy Show” - this time in glorious color!

Apparently the Petries also enjoyed this cereal.

And maybe even Hooterville?

I guess all of these folks like to eat them dry, like Paul Douglas said on the show.
