I have an oscilloscope. I was wondering if anyone has ever hooked the output of a mic to an oscilloscope (I guess this actually could be done with a windows-based scope for that matter) to get phases or even signal delays set properly in their HT?
Does this sound doable?

Sure its possible. Just put in a pulse and see the result on the scope. The pulse would need to be slow, so you would not get confused with multiple steps. Something like a 1 HZ (or lower) squarewave would be good. You want a squarewave, because it contains wide range information. A battery would work, too. Connect and disconnect the battery, and it would act like a square wave.
