I've played both and the first one was a lot better. Which I don't think is saying much. But, if you liked this game, I recommend 10000% Gabriel Knight: The Beast Within. The game is in the same style at Phastas 1 and 2, so you have full motion video and about the same interface. However, the acting is great, the game is exteremely interesting, and it is actually pretty spooky.
The game is about werewolves in its broadest sense, but deals with King Ludwig of Bavaria among other things. This is the second Gabriel Knight game, the first being Sins of the Fathers, which is more or less about Voodoo, and the third being Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned, which is kind of about Vampires. The 1st and Second game can be bought in a Gabriel Knight back going for 30 or 40 dollars or something like that. Sins of the Fathers won adventure game of the year by about every computer gaming publication, and The Beast Within won Adventure game of the year by about everyone, and COmputer Gaming World gave it the game of the year.
I hope you check them out.

I honestly just want to know if Roberta Williams is ever going to make another game. Her Kings Quest series got me into gaming in the first place, and it would be unfortunate for her to stop altogether. I don't think she'll ever release another Sierra game, but if anyone has heard anything I'd love to know.
