    Warner Brothers -

If recent reports are correct, legal matters will delay the Special Edition of BLADE RUNNER until as late as 2005.
We commend your dedication to this title and share your apparent belief that a definitive version is worth waiting for.

However,if this edition is not likely to appear in 2004,then we - the undersigned - would be very happy to see an interim release of BLADE RUNNER ; the recut version if possible, the existing Director's Cut if not - but remastered to reflect today's improved technology. The addition of the Ridley Scott commentary would be a very satisfactory extra.

BLADE RUNNER is a hugely popular film and such a release would not deter us from purchasing the full edition further down the line. If your concern is that an interim release would affect general sales, perhaps you could consider an alternative marketing strategy i.e making it a strictly limited edition and / or selling it through specific channels.

    Thank you.

I agree with Anthony. A remastered interim edition would be most welcome.

I agree too. If including the theatrical version is what's holding this up and a settlement is nowhere in sight, it'd be much better to release what's available. I'd buy it. [IMG]

I'd be more than happy if they released a fully remastered version of the original 1982 theatrical version until the 3-disc, or 4-disc or whatever pops up in the next 5 years.
I'm not a fan of the directors cut.

What exactly is the problem with the dvd release? Ridley Scott was so enthusiastic about it in an interview. Is Harrison Ford holding things up, refusing to do a commentary or talk about the film? Who cares, he hates the film.

What could be holding it up? To think, the answer is closer than you think. Literally a click away. [IMG]

Please don't turn this into another thread about where the S.E is, guys. That's well covered in the Software thread. If you don't agree with the idea I'd rather you didn't post than that you undermined the notion.
In the event that such a disc is released, you're at liberty to not buy it.

This is a petition for a REMASTERED disc with some nominal extras ; all we need are gestures of support and names, names, NAMES !!!

Like I said Anthony, I share your enthusiasm. I don't think our presence here is in "hi-jack" form. You start a Blade Runner thread and "they will come." Even in this dark little corner of HTF. [IMG]

It would be unhonest of me to say that I wouldn't buy such a version. It's just the anticipation of the much talked about "shut the [email protected] up" version (i.e. SE, UE etc.) is much more overwhelming.

    dear Warners:
I will add my vote for a remastered interim edition of BLADE RUNNER* to keep us replicant-heads at bay until the REAL 3-4 disc BR-SE arrives in 2019....
(I also happen to like the NARRATED version as well-and please fix the jiggling credit roll at the end of the DC)

...* in a keep case, please [IMG]

I would also most likely buy an interim version of Blade Runner.

I really hope that these legal problems can be rectified soon; this is a very anticipated title, and I'm sure the sales would be considerable.

Please do what you can, WB. As I said, though, if you were to release an interim re-mastered version of the new cut or the existing "director's cut," I would probably buy it, along with whatever special edition came out later.

If it's a choice between waiting for a full-blown SE that won't be available in the foreseeable future due to legal issues, or upgrading to a cut-down version now with better picture/audio quality than the current release, then sign me up for the cut-down SE. Theatrical, DC, or new SE is OK by me. [IMG]

Absolutely, add my nameto the list of people who would just love to see a decent anamorphic release, let alone any rumoured special edition.

This is a given triple dip for me and many of my friends. Do the right thing Warner! [IMG]
