Too bad. His novel inspired a movie that created the modern blockbuster.

An intelligent, articulate and very talented fellow, Mr. Benchley.

Sad news. The movie of Peter Benchley's most famous novel is an all time favorite of mine, permanently placed in my top 10.

Jaws was won of the first and most frightening books i read when i was a kid.
i was about ten years old and it began my practice of reading the origional book before the movie came out.

Sad, yes. I'm still pissed The Beast hasn't been released on DVD, and Creature has only seen a region 2 release. I liked Creature so much I bought the Region 2, ripped it, and converted to NTSC.

I'd also like to see a goddamn price drop on the Anniversery Edition of Jaws. $16 is too damn much for a 30 year old movie. The 25th Anniversery tape only costed me like $6 a few years ago for christ sakes.
