I'm just wondering for those who have them, has your car

ever been broken into? Is it better to have one installed by the manufacturer to prevent theft (since it's not a brand name system)? Is the risk/reward ratio too great?

A friend of mine had his entire front/back NAV/DVD system stolen from his. The thieves hit the installer's store and downloaded their customer list. Then, they hit every customer on the list.... Right out of his driveway.... Scary...

When do you have the time to use a dvd player in your car. Unless there are hour and a half long lights where you live.

Daniel, that's a horrible story. I'm wondering now if there's somebody who can install it in the roof of a van in a concealed fashion....

The car trips I take usually take an hour and usually I don't drive so I would get to enjoy it...

I'm to fearful of my car being broken into - that's the only thing holding me back from installing a DVD player in my car.
The alternative is to purchase a portable DVD player, which I'm going to do real soon. :)

Len,
you can purchase a "flip-down" type LCD screen like this one below

There are many different brands and I'm still trying to find the better LCD screen makers.
