The DVD sets, and recent Blu-ray set looked pretty good. I’m not sure they could improve this too much.
It just may be that the earlier versions are depleted and Shout decided to release the show in new packaging.

Like this new edition, the 2014 Shout! release also has 8 discs and includes the Christmas special. The discs are housed in two Amaray cases: 4 discs for Seasons 1 & 2; 4 discs for Seasons 3, 4 & 5. The Amaray cases are housed in a hard slipcase. As far as I can tell, it looks like this edition houses all 8 discs in one Amaray case. Not sure if any content has been changed or updated from the 2014 release.
