I was looking at hooking my pc up to my tv through a rgb to s-video adapter I picked up. Once plugged in, the picture is all scrambled. I'm guessing it has something to do with display size and refresh rate, but does anyone know how to make it work?

Check the resolution in the display properties->settings, svideo typically only supports up to 800x600, I've seen 1024x768 but it's uncommon. Standard definition tv's only have 480 lines for reference.

Best place to start though would be to check the pamphlet that came with the converter box, it should list what it supports as input.
