Wow. We've got quite the big week here. No need to wait, let's get it going.

Well looking through the ads online, damn paper hasn't gotten here yet, it seems like the best place to get Soul Calibur II this week is at Circuit City. You get a $10 Gift card and the free T-shirt. Combine that with F-Zero and you walk out the door with both of them for $90.

With a bit more hassle, you can try to get Best Buy to match the Gift Card deal on Soul Calibur II, and then use the Gamer Gift Card on F-Zero to get both for $85, but it's a bit more work.

Good luck shopping.

If you live in an area with a Microcenter, reportedly they're selling Soul Calibur II with a $20 gift card. Yikes! Too bad there's not one within 150 miles of me.

Because the game does not ship until 8/25 so most stores are not going to be able to get the game the day it ships. Stores like EB, Gamestop, will probably have it on 8/26 because they overnight all their games, but normal retail stores mostly 2 day to 3 day games thus not getting in stores until Wednesday/Thursday.

Well I can't get F-Zero GX, Otogi, Buffy, and Soul Calibur 2 just yet, but I will be able to get two of them next week after some work.

Between the DVD's and games coming out this week, I'll have no time (or money!) for anything ;) :D.

Also, on Pokemon Pinball (GBA), I'm pretty sure there's only one version of the game, and it's actually called "Pokemon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire". The Ruby refers to the red board, and the Sapphire to the blue board, just like in the GBC Pokemon Pinball you'll be able to select between the two. I highly recommend you give this game a shot if you have a GBA/GBP (if you have a GBP, it will work with your GC controller's rumble feature), as I've played the import and it's just as addictive as the first one, if not more. Absolutely great pinball games, and at $25 for the new one, you can't go wrong. :emoji_thumbsup:

Actually, F-Zero ships on Monday. All GameStop and EB stores will have it then, and many GameStops will have Soul Calibur on Tuesday, depending on where in the country you are...

Of interest to folks with a Media Play outlet in their area:
Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers (PS2
) - $14.99 (also available online)

@ Circuit City:
Xbox Exhibition Demo Disc 2 - $1.99 (regularly $4.99; sold out online, but should be available at B&M locations)

Well, I don't know what the hell is wrong with the Best Buy in my area but I'm never going there to try to buy a game on/near release day again. Two otherwise-informed game section employees had no idea on when they would get Pokemon Pinball, F-Zero GX, or Soul Calibur II in and couldn't find any of them in computer. This was despite the fact that all three titles had their little placeholders with prices out in their respective sections  . I decided to get a copy of Syberia for XBox just in case I could find nothing else. Then I hit Target where they apparently take the strategy of keeping all of their games locked behind display cases while also keeping no employees around who either know about them or have the key. Finally I went to the Babbages, where I should have gone in the first place, and got my F-Zero GX.

I'll be going by Circuit City on Thursday to get Pokemon Pinball and SCII, they damn better have both as advertised, or heads are gonna roll. :D

Sorry, I just had to vent. You haven't experienced frustration until you've gone to three different stores trying to find a dang Pokemon game of all things and gotten nothing but freakish stares in return. :b ;)

Hi guys, you know I'm not a regular videogamer for the modern machines (I play my Atari 2600 more than anything).

But the missus wants Soul Caliber II - Gamecube so she can keep her "Zelda/Link" collection complete. I was gonna grab it as a surprise for her yesterday, and thought that the game released on the 26th. The lady at Circuit City (who knows me VERY well on the DVD purchases) said something confusing to me: "today is the day it comes out, but we're not able to sell it until Friday".

It sounds like she was saying it was in the back, and they can't sell it until a street date of the 29th despite the fact that the street date was the 26th. That's how I interpreted her statement, anyway...but that's rather contradictary and confusing.

What's the deal? I see Ryan's similarly fustrated in his post above mine, so this sounds highly unusual. I didn't see SC2 in any of the other stores I was in yesterday, either...

Dave,

The release dates that I list are the ones that I grab off of EB's website. What I've found over the years is that EB and Gamestop are just about the only places that will almost always have games in stock on the release date.

Best Buy, Circuit City, Target... it's a crap shoot.

It would be nice if a uniform availability policy was applied across the board where video game releases are concerned.

I picked up Soul Calibur II (PS2) yesterday at Gamestop, along with the bonus Art Book (amazing collection of sketches). I was surprised to find F-Zero GX at Best Buy though, seeing as new releases rarely find their way onto shelves before Thursday (had about 15 copies on hand). I'm hoping that Circuit City will have SC2 on-hand this Thursday (need the Gamecube version, along with the free T-shirt and $10 Gift Card :D )

I'm planning on picking up SCII and F-Zero later this week at Best Buy... I got that thing in the mail about the extra 5000 reward zone points. That along with the games and DVD's that I'll be buying this week and next will get me another $10 in gift certificates.
