RIP Mr. Miyagi
RIP. To this day I still love the first Karate Kid movies, and it wasn't because of Daniel.
Yeah I was shocked to hear about this, Pat Morita, immortalised forever as Mr. Miyagi in the Karate Kid films, dies aged 73. Sad news.

Actor Pat Morita Dies at 73
I was reading this article about it.
I didn't understand this paragraph. Which is the "only name [his] parents gave [him]", Noriyuki or Pat?
Rest in peace, Pat.
Rest in Peace, Sensei

So sad. Miyagi is one of my all-time favorite movie characters. I would have loved to see Morita win the Academy Award back in 1985 but alas, it was hard to fault the selection of the late Haing S. Ngor for The Killing Fields.
He was one of my favorite people ever since I first became aware of him in the Karate Kid. I also loved a one-shot cable comedy show he hosted. Thanks for everything, Pat.
Sad news RIP, Miyagi-san
RIP, Mr. Morita - you were one in a million!
RIP Mr. Miyagi.
I still have my Miyagi action figure.
Sayonara, Mr. Morita. You will indeed be missed.
This one hurts. God bless his soul. I cannot begin to explain the impact his character Mr. Miyagi had on me during my youth. That character embodied the power of movies- the ability to be transcendent and speak to us outside of the context of the movie. From Mr. Miyagi I learned the value of friendship, hard work, and using violence only as a last resort. Thank you Mr. Morita and may you rest in peace.
I agree. Who wouldn't have wanted Mr. Miyagi on his side as a teenager.
As a comedian, I really respect Mr. Morita for his comedy, his timing, and his acting.
I'm truly sad.
Thanks, Pat, for all the great memories.
"Wax-on, Wax-off" for the last time.
RIP... Very sad.... very sad.............
Sad. It would almost be interesting to have another Karate Kid film made with him in it. May Pat Morita rest in peace.
Ralph Macchio in a statement....
