Resolution past 1080 … who decides it? Or better yet how does the next form of higher resolution get determined?

So you mean beyond 1080p even? Well the Japanese determine this but of course.

It's pretty much multiples of 1080, there are projectors out there way beyond 1080, but in the professional arena.

2k, 4k, etc.

I've seen the Christie D-Cinema 2k projector... very nice, but very expensive.

I'd like to see the JVC 4k D-ILA projector. I'd really like to see that.

Native Resolution
- 2048 x 1080 per Red, Green and Blue channel.
Equivalent to 6.6 million pixels
This is what I want, cant afford, but want.

I prefer a resolution of 4096x2160. Soon, from probably JVC and Sony. 1080p was SOO last year, and you don't have to pay anything near 6 figures for it either.

Only if you count each pixel 3 times, and that really doesn't count. More like 2.2.
