Passive Sub Hook-up (1 Viewer)

Can a passive sub be hooked up to the left and right front terminals and be effective. Would I need to run two wires from + and two from - or something different. Thanks

That won't work, don't try it, you might fry your receiver.

You need an amplifier. Go from the pre-out to the amplifier, then to the passive sub.

It will work, but it will also draw a lot of current from your receiver. I would also recommend an amp or old receiver to drive the sub the way Philip said.
