Parts Express Dayton 12" DVC subwoofer

    What is the smallest size of enclosure you can build for a ported dayton DVC 12" subwoofer ?

    You can build as small of an enclosure as you like, the question is what sort of performance do you want?....If you are looking for high spls in the deep bass region then you will need a fairly large enclosure of 5-7 cuft., if you are only concerned with high spls from 35Hz on up or something like that then you could build a box anywhere from 2.5-4cuft.

    Parts Express gives 2.598 cu.ft. as the optimal size for a ported box for that driver. I put one in a 2.178 cu.ft. box tuned to 24hz. and am very happy with it, I wouldn't suggest going any smaller than that though.
