TOTAL SHOCKER! After 3 years, I'd mentally written this series off as officially "two and through"!

I don't believe it!

I shouldn't complain, but why the hell don't they use up the cartoons as extras. They had 2 on season one.

What's the weather like in Hell today?

Maybe there's a chance for...the 30 other shows they left high & dry.

But could they cut the minisode crap once and for all? I would pay them to get rid of them and put real extras in their place.

This is great news for fans who've been waiting a long time or had even given up. I own seasons one and two and frankly, never thought I'd see season three.

I had long given up on this one too. Now it looks like there's a chance that the entire series will get released. Go Goose! Go Snake!

Preliminary package art here:

The Partridge Family Bulletin Board :: View topic - Season 3 IS IS IS Coming!

Style fits seamlessly with the other two sets--as though a 2-3 year hiatus never existed. I confess I don't have a clue as to the nature of the special features on this set, though...

Heck, at this point I would pay them to get rid of the mini-sodes, period. I'd rather have nothing than this crap. I never want to offend someone who likes something that I don't happen to like, but I've honestly never ONCE had someone tell me that they like these things. Anyone care to be first to tell me these are something they enjoy? Don't be shy; I honestly won't ridicule you!

Carabimero,

I too own the first two seasons. Our family loves this show. I watched it during its original run, and the memories are all good. I will be getting the third season as well.

Scott--suppose there's any guest star crossover between PF and OL...?

And please, Sony, no music substitutions, a la "The Fugitive". Something akin to Wayne Newton's voice subbed for David Cassidy I do not want.

While Dave is doing his naked happy dance over in the Quark thread, I'm doing mine right here.

I thought that this show was a gonner. Glad that we might, just might, get the whole series on DVD soon.

I'm thrilled but I sure hope they don't cancel it at the last minute!

Michael,

Maybe. I hadn't considered that. I do know that there is crossover between The Partridge Family and The Mod Squad. I will keep an eye out for it (with regard to The Outer Limits). Interesting.

Personally I'd say that S2 edges out S3 but the latter has a lot going for it. The songs are still great ("One Night Stand", "God Bless You Girl", "Together We're Better", "It's All in Your Mind") even if not quite in the league of those that appeared on the first three albums. Reuben and Danny continue to share some great comedic moments (e.g. "Each Dawn I Diet") and the guest star roster is superb.

There is that dreaded "Partridges in chicken suits" episode to contend with ("Bedknobs and Drumsticks") but the season finishes off with a couple of great ones: "Diary of a Mad Millionaire" and "Me and My Shadow".

Excellent episode guide here:

Third Season
