PARAMOUNT: Why oh why is the DARIA movie "Is it College Yet?" the MTV edited version?

Many folks are less than happy about the fact that the version of "Is it College Yet?", the DARIA movie, to be released 8/28/02 is the 66-minute edit, rather than the longer version from the first run on MTV.

This especially in the light of "The N" hacking the original episodes to ribbons (and omitting certain episodes) to make them appropriate for 9-year-olds.

Will the unedited version ever be made available?

Will future episode releases be edited? Please, tell us that they WON'T be the "The N" versions.

Please release all of DARIA uncut, as it originally aired in first run. Thanks.

    Frustrated,

Word from VIACOM, MTV's parent company:

Apparently, I owe apologies all around. We'd still like to see all of Daria uncut on DVD, please.

RE: IICY? DVD is edited MTV version. Why?

    Dear [Person]:

Thanks very much for the clarification. I will spread the word.

Please let me know if any further Daria releases are scheduled, so that I can help promote them in preorder.
