Last I heard the legal stuff had been cleared up but still no DVD.
My guess is that Grease would be a "big feature of the year" title for Paramount, that tends to be released in the August timeframe. Since this year's is Saturday Night Fever, that means it wouldn't come out until next year...unless Indy movies happen to be ready by next year (which I'm not banking on).
(I noted this as an aside in another thread, but I'll repost here since it's more relevant.)
As we all know, GREASE is not on DVD yet. But is GREASE one of those DVDs that supposedly was created in the early days of the format, but which was never released?
The reason I ask is that I noticed it is listed as being a THX-certified DVD on the THX website.
So, does that list refer to some old never-released version or does it mean that Paramount has only recently submitted it to THX, perhaps indicating that a release is imminent? It doesn't seem likely, since the list doesn't seem to have any other upcoming titles listed (that I know of), some of which are bound to be THX.

Alright, to follow up my own post. I did some more checking. From this year-old status report at DVDFile it appears that the DVD was physically produced back in 1998, but never released. So that's probably what the THX list refers to.
dave this is off the subject.. but do you know which theaters around here are going to get the episode 2 digital presentations? i heard two of our theaters were.
Matt, all I know is that Malco Theater chain is saying this:
Screw GREASE. I want GREASE 2!
I would love to have Grease 2 as well, but it doesn't make sense to release Grease 2 without Grease. I'd heard some issues with regards to the release had been cleared up, while others remain. Just sitting here patiently...
