Any chance that we'll see What's Eating Gilbert Grape on DVD?
Director Lasse Hallström's increased recognition for 2 Best Picture nominations (Cider House Rules and Chocolat) has got to help.
Maybe this can coincide with the December release of his highly anticipated The Shipping News.

I absolutely love this movie, I was thinking about starting a post for this movie, But There is an upcoming chat with warner and I am trying to get a 100 votes for The Release of
Stephen King's IT.
I have gilbert Grape on video, But I don't watch VHS anymore so this movie would be a very warm welcome to my DVD collection.

I would also love to have this movie on DVD. I know Leo DiCaprio gets a lot of flack on this forum, but WEGG is one of his best performances along with This Boy's Life. Let's not forget the great John C Reily and for you Back to the Future fans Crispin Glover and Mary Steenburgen. A must have for DVD.

I didn't see Gilbert until a few years ago. I really loved this film, and would buy it on DVD in a heartbeat. This film is a showcase for Leonardo DiCaprio's acting talent. Something he hasn't reproven to me since. Johnny Depp is also great, and the story is phenomenal. This film deserves a special edition treatment since I'm sure it hasn't been seen by nearly as many people as it deserves. I think a special edition would bring much needed attention to a great film.

Talk about decieving...
The cover of the Region 2 Gilbert Grape DVD shows a Leonardo Dicaprio mug shot from either a publicity photo or another movie ("This boy's Life" perhaps?). I guess a shot of his character "Arnie" would turn off all those 13 year old girls.
