I'm not sure but I think Paramount owns the rights to this film. I would love to see it come to DVD. If anyone else shares a love for this film and would like to see it on DVD, please voice your opinion.

Mike,
Paramount has been releasing some of their westerns each summer to dvd for the last couple of years. Hopefully, in 2003, "The Tin Star" will get it's dvd release. The following Paramount westerns are scheduled for a June release this year.
  • Will Penny
  • Gunfight at the OK Corral
  • Five Card Stud
  • Nevada Smith
  • Goin' South
  • Bad Company

Ha, ha! Paramount can count some sold DVDs already!

And I second The Tin Star, for the record.

Cees-

What are you waiting for? MGM's already released a nice DVD of this Aldrich classic.

Cees,

I'm actually disappointed with the MGM dvd release of "Vera Cruz". It could have been done much better with an anamorphic presentation. Also, 3:10 to Yuma is coming out on April 2nd with Gunfight at the OK Corral and Hombre both having different June release dates.

Robert,
It's already on its way now. I believed that it was the audio that was less than optimal. Well, even if I had read your comment earlier, I would still have ordered the disc (you knew that :)), little chance it will be redone soon, I guess.
Yes, I was waiting for 3:10 to Yuma and the Gunfight. Didn't know about Hombre, though. Thanks for alerting me!
Speaking of Aldrich, my wife hopes they will bring out The Frisco Kid. One of her all-time favourites (that's partly because of Harrison Ford).
