Now that 2003 (and the 20th anniversary) of THE KEEP are coming closer, are there any hints of what can be expected on the DVD? Will we get to see the extended and alternate scenes as previously featured on television? Maybe a Dolby Digital remix of the original 6-track sound from the 70mm prints?
At least can you promise that the trailer will be presented at a proper 1.85 ratio? The trailer that was on the BARBARELLA laserdisc is pan-scanned from 1.85, and looks extremely cramped and grainy.
2003 is a terrific time to release THE KEEP. Michael Mann is one of our respected directors, and is in the popular consciousness both through his TV show ROBBERY HOMICIDE DIVSION and acknowledgement of his original film of RED DRAGON (MANHUNTER). Ian McKellen is now a world star thanks to LORD OF THE RINGS, and Gabriel Byrne is certainly more popular now than when he first made the film. I think you can look forward to strong sales.
Thank you again Martin for helping get this on the schedule.
