Perhaps the climate in the country is wrong for DVD release of this movie right now, but it really isn't in any way pornographic and has lovely period sets and atmosphere (to say nothing of Susan Sarandon). It's also been a solid VHS seller for ages. This would have made a great companion release to ATLANTIC CITY, but that opporunity has gone by. Is any release of this, your only other Louis Malle film, being looked into?

I will certainly second this request and I hope that it's not too long before we see this fine title on DVD. It true that it would have been a good companion piece to release with ATLANIC CITY, but I won't be too disappointed if it shows up soon. A nice 16x9 anamorphic transfer will be quite satisfactory, along with any other Malle films in the Paramount vaults. I won't complain if there's additional participation from Keith Carradine, Susan Sarandon, and Brooke Shields. [IMG]

Among other reasons why I love this film is that it inspired one of the smartest quotes I've heard from a filmmaker:

"Young girls know everything, but they spend the rest of their lives being taught to forget it." -- Louis Malle

Maybe they could get Polly Platt to do a commentary track?

I haven't seen this film in years, but I'd definitely get it on DVD.
