Y'all remember this thread about Paramount titles marked down? Well, almost all the $14.95 SRP titles there, plus other markdowns from previous months, are temporarily on sale at FYE (sorry; I missed getting the end-date).

These suckers are in their own cardboard stand-up display near the register, for $9.99 each!

Here are all the titles in the display:
    • Addam's Family
      Trading Places
      He Said, She Said
      Hardball
      Terms of Endearment
      Switchback
      True Grit
      Vampire In Brooklyn
      Ghost
      Frankie & Johnnie
      The Bad News Bears
      Internal Affairs
      Clueless
      Shaft (Sam Jackson)
      Lassie
      Ferris Buellar's Day Off
      Wayne's World
      Wayne's World 2
      Sabrina (Harrison Ford)
      Rules of Engagement
      The Phantom
      The Score
      BND Go to Japan
      BNB in Breaking Training
      Andre
      Beavis and Butt-head Do America
      Fatal Attraction
      She's Having A Baby
      Sleepy Hollow
      Election
South Park: Bigger, Better & Uncut
      Hard Rain

I bought five of them myself...I already had all the others I wanted. Enjoy!

David, aren't $14.95 SRP titles normally $9.99 at many retailers like Best Buy and even lower from places like DDD?

Usually. The point is that many of these titles aren't in stock at those other places. I recently had to fight with Borders to get Election for the $12.99 that their Title Sleuth kiosk stated, instead of the $25.99 sticker price that was on the box. Why? They were the only place that had this title. If I'd known I'd find it at FYE soon, I definately wouldn't have killed 20 minutes of my life debating the point.

Even stores where you find these at often have them for more than $9.99...$11.99 or $12.99 or even $14.99 isn't too unusual. This isn't a bad deal at all.

Unless you're willing to wait for DDD...then you probably will get these for less.

David, It wasn't my intention to thread crap, so I hope it didn't seem that way. I have noticed some of those titles seem to be oddly rare. Election in particular is not available many places. I wonder why. Unfortunately, there isn't much on the list I'm interested in.

I did see Sleepy Hollow at my local Wal-Mart for $9.44 FWIW.

Also, I'm surprised Borders isn't set up to know the correct price. Best Buy constantly has DVDs marked at the wrong price. It's only because I know what the current price is that I know it will ring up cheaper.

There are several of them in the Chicago area. I have seen the stores at malls in Mount Prospect, Niles, and Vernon Hills.

FYI - I saw most of those titles on sale for $10 each at the local Virgin Megastore (in the Ontario Mills mall) yesterday. I picked up Election and a couple of other titles (the sale isn't limited to just Paramount DVDs) for that price. I believe the cashier told me that the sale runs through August 8th.

Thanks for the heads up David! Though I'm in Canada, these are about the same equivalent price now. Picked up "Election" today after the guys' recs...they had just put them out...never heard of this movie but I saw it got great reviews.
