Well it has been about two months now since we have learned that region 2 will be cutting the first film in the series as a special edition and a unrated cut. Granted, this is by Warner, but Paramount...any word from you on if you will be revisiting this title THIS year as well?

It seems like the perfect opportunity for you do so being that in your catalog there isn't a great amount of horror titles remaining for you to make money of the Halloween season crowd. Also, with the work already being done by Warner, it would be easy for you to acquire that version and release it for region 1. It would be a shame to have money made by your company be lost to Warner since they are doing the film the way that the horror fan wants it.

Also, one of the biggest debates on this series and a possible revisitation is that in the past you haven't revisted titles. Well, now you are, such as the Jack Ryan series and of course the continued efforts regarding the Star Trek series. So to not do so with this series, there is really no excuse.

I think we'll see a new SE of Top Gun before we see new SE's of the Ft13 films...esp. in this "patriotic" time we're living in. Ahem. :)

Come on though...David...what is more American than a bunch of teenagers having unprotected sex, smoking dope and getting slaughtered? ;)

Even so how can you justify 20-30 bux for a bare-bones disc?
Not me. Paramount DVD's are way too expensive. $20-$30 dollars for a bare bones disc is ridiculous. Other studios such as Warner, MGM, New Line, Columbia Tristar, etc are selling bare bone discs for less than $20.

Even though Paramount totally supports OAR, it doesn't justify paying almost $30 dollars for a bare bones disc.

Well, I & other people have problems with Paramount DVD's being expensive. Well, a good way would be to purchase used Paramount DVD's.

For example, I ordered 2 Paramount DVD's used thru Amazon.com Marketplace. The movies were Hey Arnold! The Movie for $12.99 (S&H included) & Lara Croft - Tomb Raider for $10.48 (S&H included).

Even though Paramount DVD's are expensive when buying the DVD's new, you can buy them used for less which saves you money.

I'll put it this way, if Paramount released Uncut SE's of all 8 of their films, I wouldnt even think twice about buyin em. Paramount, you suck! A film made in america and released here gets an SE release overseas, but not here, makes no sense whatsoever.

Well according to the leaked Warners UK DVD release list which was posted on this, and many other forums (and has so far proved to be surprisingly accurate) it won't be released in the UK until the end of September.

There is still time for Paramount to announced a special edition for the US! (Although I must admit based on past comments this sounds unlikely)

They must want to release some horror this Halloween!
