Yeah, I liked this movie, but I have a somewhat good reason to request this silly film. If I read my 'Variety' article that Paramount gave us on the restoration tour, Back to the Beach was one of the first films to be preserved (or was it restored?).
I thought a film of that nature was an unusual candidate.
Anyway, a slapstick funny film, and Frankie Avalon was hilarious as was everyone else (Bob Denver, Pee Wee Herman, etc.).
Plus never been available in widescreen.
Another "good movie" I need, my laserdisc is beginning to wear out.

Major bump...
I saw this movie on Starz! Family last week, and I thought it was a cute piece. Light, fluffy, not much to think about while watching...
The sheer randomness of the thing is so funny (cameos of 50s and 60s TV stars, Pee-Wee Herman performing "Surfing Bird") and this film also contains rare screen appearances by musicians like Fishbone and Stevie Ray Vaughn.
Please, Paramount, how about it?
Sincerely,
John Kilduff...
You do DVDs so well...do them faster!;)
