Well I went and did quite a bit of listening at the only place in town that carry Paradigm. I narrowed my choices down to one system in the Monitor line and one system in the Studio line. It still wasn't cut and dry for me so I decided it was time to let price factor in on the decision. I asked the dealer to give me his best price on each system. The guy went away for a few minutes and came back with basically full retail for each. I told him I was expecting a bit lower than full retail. Well, he acted like I was crazy to expect anything less. "That's what the tag says - that's the price" sort of attitude. OK, so I left empty handed, told them I would shop around and check back with them one last time to see if they were going to give me a better price.
There are 2 Paradigm dealers in a city about 100 MI. from here. The possible problem is that they are 2 more of the same chain as the first so I may get the same reaction. I may try another larger town a little further away and see how it plays out as well.
Last thing is most of the stores seem to stock just the basic black finish and I would have to have them order one of the veneer finishes for at least the mains. I don't know if that will affect their ability to discount price.
Below are the systems I settled on and the price I was given for each. What I would like to know is what others are buying these speakers for NEW at their dealers. If you bought the same group and can give me a Pkg. price that's great. Otherwise just let me know what's a FAIR price on each set of speakers.
Thanks.
Monitor System $2450US+ Tax
Monitor 7s
CC 370
ADP 370s
PW-2200
Studio System $3050US+ Tax
Studio 40s
Studio CC
Studio ADPs
PW-2200
If I wanted a Servo 15 with either system instead of the 2200 that upped the price about $700

Luke,
I think most people will tell you that you should be able to get atleast 10-15% off with some being able to get upwards of 20-25%. Are you located near the Canadian border because it would be well worth the trip up here to get your stuff. The prices you see in the US are the same in Canada but in CDN$$$. Since your US$$ gets 1.5CDN$$ you could save a bundle. Also factor in the return of your sales tax and it maybe worth a weekend trip.

I paid $1,075 for my Monitor 7's, CC350 (precursor to the 370) and Mini Monitor's for surrounds. The breakdown was as follows:
------------------Paid---List
Monitor 7's-------$525---$630
CC350-----------$250---$329
Mini Monitors-----$300---$339
I got roughly 20% off list for this set. I considered driving to Winnepeg as Kevin suggests but the costs of the trip would have offset any savings I received. If I ever upgrade to Studio 100s, Studio CC and Studio 40's for rears the trip would be worth my while.

Here is what I paid in Houston.
Studio 40's (veneer) - $900
Studio 40's (veneer) - $775
PW-2200 - $599
Stuiod/CC - $500
The first pair of 40's I purchased was their regular price.
The second pair of 40's and the PW-2200 were purchased during my dealer's inventory sale, hence the prices.

I picked mine up a month or so ago, and there wwas LOTS of room to move for my local dealer.
Paradigm Monitor 5's: List $560 Payed $520
Mini Monitor's: List $350 payed $290
CC370 center: List $359 payed $240
PW2200: List $999 payed $730
List price comes to 2268 + 15% sales tax in my province, so approx $2608.
With discount's it comes to $1780, $2047 taxes and all.
Keep in mind this is the only Paradigm dealer in my entire province, so I imagine their list prices are much higher then a major center with numerous Paradigm dealers.

I was just quoted the following in Montreal, Canada.
Paradigm Studio 60, 20, and CC all for CDN$2100+tax=CDN$2415 or US$1528.48 @ 1.58 exchange rate. If you are returning to the US with your purchase, you will be refunded the tax.

I recently made a trip to Winnipeg for just this reason. My budget isn't as big as yours, but I was quoted just under $1000 canadian($99something) for a pair of Mini Monitors, a b stock CC 370 center and a pair of Titans. The $1000 canadian also included tax which, apparently, you can get back when you cross the border.

Here is what I paid for my system about 6 months ago.
Studio 60,s Light cherry veneer $1100.00
Studio CC $399.00
PW-2200 (floor model) $500.00
I didn't get the studio ADP'S because the wife started to give me evil looks, so right now I am using Paradigm atoms for surrounds.
I have noticed some Paradigm dealers just won't budge. I had to make a two hour trip each way to find a dealer that would work with me. Sometimes persistence pays off. BTW I think even at full retail Paradigm speakers are worth the price. I am just to cheap to pay full retail.

Just picked up the Servo-15 for $1400 and the Studio 40s for $950 Canadian. Both in black and the Servo-15 came without the x-30. That comes to about $1500 US, which is much lower than my local dealer was going to go (2300). The roadtrip to canada was very much worth it.

Jason,

The ADP-450's are discontinued since they are part of the V.1 series. The V.2 model is the Studio/ADP which lists for CDN$1050/pair. Typical dealer discounts are usually 15-25% off MSRP.

Luke, I think that is what you are looking for. I just presented my local authorized dealer (San Angelo, TX) with 25% off MSRP and he is going to call me back.
* He just called and said "no problem" to 25% off MSRP on the Paradigm Reference series.
