    Hello all:

I am interested in hearing from owners of the Studio V2 line as to whether they are upgrading to the V3 line and why. I am particularly interested in hearing from those who have compared the two lines.

I had a chance to compare the studio 60's side-by-side. I would not pay the money to switch and the shop owner agreed.

I will say that they do have a little better bass response, but I could not distinguish the tweeter or mid response from one to another.

    Just my two cents.

Lets be careful with the use of the word "upgrade". Yes, the V3's are the latest version, and yes they cost more, but the jury is still out as to whether they are sonically an upgrade over the V2's.

With regard to bass response, there is a thread at AVS which compares the V2 and the V3 specs as published on Paradigm's web site. The specs would seem to indicate that the V2's have more bass response.

How's the jump from the V1 to the V2? You see a lot of listings for V1s.

I wish I could compare the two myself. Unfortunately, my dealer does not have the v3s yet.

Well - what about a more specific example? I currently own a pair of Monitor7s v2 and I've seen a lot of people selling their v1 Studios - would that be an upgrade or a downgrade in sonics?

Where do you see all these people selling v1's ??

I would be interested in picking up a used set of those.

I went to my dealer tonight and he have a pair of Studio 60 V2 (is last and is demo). Wow great sound. I can buy them for $1100 Can. plus tax. What do you think, is it a good price? Sorry there was no V3 to compare.

Jeff - was that comment directed at me or the initial post of upgrading from v2s to v3s?

    Sorry Ernest,
Been out of touch, yes from monitor to studio is the big improvement, haven't heard v3's.
