Paradigm Studio Setup (need ideas on different options) (1 Viewer)

So I was sitting here pondering, I figured since my discount is so great with my local dealer (30% off Tax inc.), why not go for the gold right off the bat, atleast for peace of mind, I know I will never look back, I cant if I get the best right? So with that said I have deceided to go with the following setup.

Paradigm Studio 100 V.3
Paradigm Studio CC-570 V.3
Paradigm Studio ADP-470 V.3

$3465 Tax. Included!

This will be for 50/50 HT/Music. I thought for use as pure proccessing power the Denon 3803 should do the trick as a pre-amp/pro. What do you guys think? Now for amplifier I have been beating myself to death on what to do. What should be the bare mininum I should send these speakers? I'm thinking doing monoblocks for pure flexibility and if I ever decide to do 7.1 (which I doubt)? My budget for amplification is $1200. I dont "mind" buying used, but would rather buy new. thanks!

Who is your dealer? Your talking 37% off retail($4950CDN) when you factor tax incl. Is he giving them too you for cost? You may want to add the $1200 for amps to the cost of the 3803 and move into the 4803 or 5803 if possible.

You can get a 5 channel amp (model 755), 200 watts/channel for $1300 plus shipping. Supposed to be a great amp, especially for the money. And you get to try it out in your home with your equipment.

Or right now, I think they have a special for their monoblock, model 200. You can get 5 for the price of 4 at $1124 plus shipping. 200 watts/channel, but in monoblocks.

ArthurJ, I have been looking at a Rotel RMB1075 to power some soon to be aquired 40v3, cc470 and ADP's. 120W x 5, you could mono block the remaining 2 channels later, or get a cheaper 2 ch amp. The 1075 retails new for 1500 CDN and as far as I am concerned is one of the better deals out there. Have heard much good about the Paradigm/Rotel combo as well.

Some here might say you should look to more power for a set of 100's to get the best out of them. If you went 200w x 2 for the front and a less expensive 5 channel for the rest, that would be another option.

ArthurJ, you may want to take a look over at Outlaw Audio. They have great products at amazing prices. For what your looking at spending on the Denon 3803 and amp you could pick up a 950 PrePro/755 Pwr Amp for $1998US or even a B stock 950Pre/New 755 for $1898US. Jump right into the seperates world and stay away from receivers.

As far as Pauls idea on getting a Rotel RMB-1075, its an excellent choice. It does match well with Paradigm. Currently I have a Rotel RMB-1095 powering my new Studio 40,20,CC470 setup and the sound is amazing. Luckily I was able to pick up the 1095 for the same price as the 1075.

Ok, so i looked into outlaws amplifiers...

I can get (5) M200's for $1200 + S&H (5th one free)
I can get the 755 for $1300 + S&H
Both put out the same power, with the M200's having individual power supply and flexibility, is this a no brainer for me guys? should I go with the M200's? Thanks!


P.S. the 750 + (5) M200 combo would run me exactly $2700 Canadian + Shipping + Duty + Brok Fees. This is where I find it hard to think its worth it, anybody know the exact cost it would come out to be.

ArthurJ, if you go with the 950/755 combo then you only pay duty on the 950 since the 755 is built in the US. You may in the end get away with paying the duty with them grouped together. Call Canada Customs to ask. Look at the B Stock 950/755 deal, and ask Canada Customs if the B stock pre/pro would be charged duty. At $1900US/$2600CDN+fees it should come in same or lower than buying the 3803($2000CDN) and say a Rotel RMB 1075($1500CDN).

As far as my 1095 I walked into my local dealer and they had a Rotel RMB-1095 on display. They were getting out of the Rotel line and had it on for $1800. Couple days later I went back and offered $1500CDN. They offered it to me if I bought an extended warranty. So for $1550DN I walked out with it and a full 9yr warranty. If I don't make a claim on the warranty in the 9yrs I get the $50 back as store credit.

I'm using a RMB-1095 with Paradigm Studio-40, 20 and CC-570. I was able to buy it 1 year ago for 1500$ cdn too. Just be prepare to do some haggling... I bought so much equipment from this guy that I didn't had to do any haggling...

Rotel makes some very good amps, that match pretty well with Paradigm speakers. They usually exceed there power rating, and gives you plenty of headroom. But Paradigm speakers are very effecient, and a RMB-1075 will serve you pretty well too.

Hi, I am looking at speakers for a new room that is nearly completed. I could go with all new v3's, but have a chance at a pair of 100's and a CC in v2's. My questions: would you go with the v2's that were demos and then use v3 ADP's with them(4 for 7.1)? I can get them at a good price and am considering it. I can also get a pair of v3 100's, also demos, but I like the v2 100's a lot (the good deal thing).
Would you go with demo speakers if the price was right? How about mixing a 470 or a 570 CC with the v2 100's?
I also would like to have 2 subs, I have a PW2200, should a get another 2200 or go to a Servo 15? The room is 14 1/2 by 23 1/2, if I use the 100's is 2 subs overkill?

to answer your question though, paradigm directly said that the V2 series and V3 series are timber matched and CAN be integrated together. Although no identical, I doubt you will notice surround differences.

I kept my veneer Studio-100v2 and use them with a CC-570v3, 40v3 and 20v3 with great results. I was not able to part with those beautiful veneer 100v2!

They mix very well together.

ArthurJ, sorry about the hijack - I got in with the "Paradigm Studio Setup (need ideas on different options)"' title of the thread. I was concerned about the matching of the versions. A dealer told me that it would matter, he said that the 570 would be more noticeable then a CC with the 100 v2's. I would like to know where the dealer is that gets you into the 37% off MSRP. I have also purchased an Outlaw combo 950/770 with the 7 pack interconnects. Still in the boxes, ready & waiting. As Kevin W. pointed out, the 950 is made offshore and the 770 is made in the USA. I was fortunate to not have to pay duty on the 950, only GST on the pair.

I'm using a cc-570 with my Studio-100v2 w/o any problems, since 3 weeks. Seamless panning and transitions. After a good calibration with my Anthem AVM20, the 570 blend as well or better with the 100v2 then the CCv2 was doing.

The 570 is not noticeable at all on my system. It's a really good mix with the 100v2.

But female voices are alot better, better vocals on DVD-A and SACD. A good improvment in my book over the CCv2.

I was not able to part with my veneer 100v2...:b
