Well after auditioning many different speakers i have narrowed it down to Paradigm Studio 100s v5 and Song Tower RT. I picked Song Towers because of all the reviews and things i have read online. Only problem is i can not audition them any were in my area. So i come to you guys to help me out. These will be uses as 90% HT and 10% music. Price range is $2800 or under. Set-up so far Room size:15'x13' (estimate) Pioneer elite sc-27 AVR Martin Logan TF Encore center Polk rti8 used as surrounds Sunfire Sub Kimber Kable used throughout I don't plan on upgrading to a separate amp anytime soon. Next upgrades will be a matching center and surrounds. Any advice?

Paradigm is a large corporation that wants to squeeze every penny of profit out of their speakers. Jim Salk is an audio enthusiast that builds speakers. Yes, the corporation has a lot more R&D but if you ever have a problem, are you going to talk to the CEO of Paradigm?

Very good info. Also have been recommended Ascend Sierra Towers with ribbon tweeters. I wish i lived in a more populated area were i could audition more speakers. I have to mostly rely on reviews and what people say mostly.

I just bought the V5 Studio 100 and could not be more pleased. Auditioning is done strictly with music. Like you, I was limited in what I could audition, however, spending good money on speakers I would never buy without auditioning. I managed to listen to Focal (from 12,000 dollars down), B&W 600, Definitive Tech, and a couple of others I cannot remember right now. I was not impressed with any of them. The 100's gave me the sound I was looking for... at least very close. A few weeks later, the speakers have broken in and they sound sweet. Best speakers I ever had.

I've heard Song towers are good, but without listening, they have no chance of being bought. I find Robert's answer amusing as in the 30+ years of audiophile listening I have never had a problem with speakers. If I did, I don't care who I talk to as long as the situation is remedied. I did talk to the regional marketing guy for Paradigm down here in South Florida and he was most gracious and offered his help and number should there be a problem.

FYI: I have the Studio 100, ADP 590 (sides), CC-590 (center), and Studio 20 (back surround), all V5.

Same with me. But I also build my own speakers so I know what goes into designing them. I've had forum exchanges with Jim Salk and like your Paradigm guy, extremely nice. The last time I checked, it was Jim and a helper building speakers.

Well i think the paradigms are officially out of the question. Only problem now is 2 new contenders have entered in its place. Funny how that works. Anyways narrowed it down to these 3, i hope. -Ascend Acoustics Sierra Tower w/RAAL ($2800 +shipping) -The Philharmonic 2 w/RAAL ($2000 + shipping) but only available in black -Salk Sound Tower w/RAAL ($2700 + shipping)
