Paradigm Reference v4.0 ? (1 Viewer)

I was in the A/V store today - ready to purchase Paradigm Reference v3.0 (1) cc570, (2) Studio 60's, (3) SA15's or possibly CS60R's for surround sound.

I had heard thru the grapevine that v4.0 was coming out. I then saw the catalog for the Reference Series v4.0 in the store. I asked the salesman about it - he had no idea that it was coming out. He then called the Paradigm rep and told me (a) that the new v4.0 will be out in Jan 07, and (b) the only change is with the "cross-over".

Being in a home (newly constructed), with absolutely no rush, would you recommend waiting for the v4.0 speakers ? I have no idea - as I'm sure the prices will go up.

I would wait until the dealer starts closing out the v3 and get speakers you know you want for a little less $$.

Good thought - but I don't think he's going to get any cheaper - unless Paradigm tries clearing them out. I'm getting discounted already. I don't think the local dealers here stock any of them. They order from the company once an order is placed with them.

If the dealer stated that the crossover was going to be re-worked I would imagine the sound in the v.4 will be slightly different from the version 3. If you do decide to go with the 3's, you better get every channel you want, it may be tough to add on mor v.3 once the v.4 come out. Good luck, and watch out for good deals on the v.3
