Paradigm Monitors and Onkyo SR600 (1 Viewer)

I just purchased the Onkyo SR600 and am looking for a set of speakers. I just visited my local Paradigm dealer and he demoed a set of Paradigms for me. They where Monitor 9s v2 in the front, CC-370 for the front, titans in the rear, and the PDR-12 Sub. I am very very impressed with the setup. They are offering it for $1495 + tax.
Since I am new to allot of this, I was wonder two things:
1. Is this set a good play to the Onkyo SR600 Receiver
2. Is that a fair price for a 5.1 config of Paradigm.
Any and all opinions are appreciated.

Just a suggestion on the Paradigm set up. I would suggest you listen to the Monitor 7s as an alternative to the 9s and then demo the Mini-monitors as your surrounds. The woofer and tweeter on the Minis is exactly the same as the 7s and the CC-370.

Some people consider the 9s to be a bit "boomy" on the bass. Just a suggestion. The only true test is what sounds best to you.

I agree with Marty, with a PDR-12 the 8" drivers on the Monitor 9's will be a bit redundant. I've got the setup that Marty outlined and am quite happy with it.

In a fit of "upgradeitis" this spring I demoed the 9's to see if I should upgrade and decided against it. Your milage may vary, of course.

Thank you all for the information. I talked to one guy at work who is an Audiophile nut and he said the same. They are trying to push the Monitor 9s to get rid of them and make room for the v3 that are coming out.

I am going to talk to them about getting 7s in and probably get them.
