I was offered a pair of Paradigm Compact Monitors after posting an ad for used speakers. I was curious if anyone had an opinion on these speakers, as I've never heard of the compact monitor before. You can see pictures and specs of this speaker here
I was also sent a picture of the logo on the back of the speakers that shows that they are/were part of the monitor series and are bi-ampable.

    They are 3 years old.

    Any info would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Andrew

They cannot be 3 years old, since the current Monitor and Studio lines have been out for MUCH longer than that.

Other than that, it looks pretty decent. Specs suggest something more like a predecessor to the Studio 20 with a soft dome tweeter with aluminum former (Monitor line has traditionally used plastic, while Studios are cast aluminum).

The Mini MKIII was made between 95-97 and was replaced with the Mini-Monitor I believe.

    Thanks for the replies.

He did mention something about it being the predecessor to the Studio 20, so it's good to hear that brought up. Everything seems good so far..

According to Audiogon, the Compact Monitor model was introduced in 1988. A search through the newsgroups via groups.google.com suggests the model was discontinued in 1994 or so -- and was replaced by the Studio 20.

Some specs can be found in this old newsgroup posting.
