    Hi Guys,

I recently bought this DVD player based on this forum advise.

I set it up in the On screen menu on progressive output, but the progressive light was not on so I switched it manually to progressive mode.

Now, everytime I watch an anamorphic DVD and stop the DVD player, my TV comes back to a 4:3 mode and I have to reswitch it manually to a 16:9 mode.

Do you guys have any idea why?

I own the 36XBR450. When I watch DVD's (anamorphic) when fed a progressive signal to the TV, you have to go into the TV's menu to turn on the 16X9 enhanced mode. It's not a problem.. it's just how the Sony's were made. I believe the new units.. the XBR800 do not have that problem anymore. I know it's sort of annoying. Once you turn that mode on.. it should stay on unti you get out of the TV's setting. So if you change it to another video source, or what not.. you have to turn that mode on again if you go back.

Thanks Tom. You're right it's not a big issue, but I thought there was a way to fix it.
