Panasonic is offering 2 free Blu-ray movies (Disney's Nightmare Before Christmas and Ratatouille) by mail with the purchase of their DMP-BD35 player by mail thru 1/31/2009.

I've seen this player streeting for below $250 (including Amazon), and both movies are excellent demo material.

The rebate form can be downloaded here.

Ooh! Thanks so much!
I got mine from AMAZON so I hope the confirmation e-mail will count as the receipt...

Reading the fine print: "Store receipts must emanate from same state as consumer address." Not sure what that means. Emanate means to flow forth so it sounds like if you mail-order it from somewhere outside your state you are not eligible.

I'm looking to find a good deal on either this blu-ray player or the Sony bdp-s350. This coupon could be a deciding factor if I could find it at my price-point in my state.

I read that but I don't think it is fair and I don't understand why they care if it is from the same state...

Sorry to dig up this old thread but has anyone received their free movies yet?

I mailed my form out 11-29-08 and still nothing as of 3-13-09.

Hey, Steve, thanks for bringing this up. I submitted my form back in mid-December (thought I could beat the rush of people who received the player for Christmas) and still haven't heard anything. To be honest, I'd almost forgotten about it. The form said to allow 8-10 weeks for delivery, so we are both past that time frame.

Does anyone know of a way to check on the status of this offer? Or, as Steve originally asked, has any even received their free discs yet?

Sent mine in Mid-December and nothing yet.

There is a long thread on avforum about this issue and it's seems random when the discs get sent out. Several who sent forms in back in October are still waiting while a lot of December and even a couple January folks have already gotten their discs.

Panasonic "Sleeping Beauty" promo. Please post if you got your discs - AVS Forum

There have been several emails posted, but getting an answer is spotty. By phone it seems even worse (800-536-6186), but at least you can leave a voice message.

You can try:
[email protected] -- sometimes the mail comes back, sometimes it appears delivered and occasionally you get a return mail.

Thanks for the info, David. It sounds like the response was more than BVHE was prepared for. A number of people at the AVS forum report having received their discs in the past couple of days, so I'm just going to be patient.

I guess I'll just look at it this way: I didn't buy my Blu-ray player just to get the 2 free movies so if I don't get them I haven't really lost anything. I wouldn't have bought these 2 particular movies anyway but considering they were free I'd have taken them.

I'm not saying I'm not disappointed but I'm not going to make a big deal out of it.

Just got my discs today after 11 weeks (??) so add me to that latest rush of mailings. It's just odd how these discs seem to arrive -- it's like the folks at the Fulfillment Center throw all the mail in a pile and every couple weeks just randomly picked out a bunch without regard to when the mail was received.

I got lucky with the $150 Sears deal after Black Friday so the discs are just icing.

That almost an impressively ridiculous delay, but congrats on finally getting them. On some other forums I've heard of some October folks who are still waiting, but many of them who have contacted Pana/BV have been told that their stuff was never received and to resubmit -- maybe they will get them by Christmas.

Since I ordered mine around the end of November and you ordered your mid-December you should get yours in another 2 weeks or so. Hope so.

But that's an awfully long time to wait even if it is free.

Still hadn't heard or received anything as of today, so I thought I'd try their email address again (fourth try with no previous answers). I was surprised to receive this immediate, automated reply:

Thank you for contacting the Panasonic Sleeping Beauty Promotion email box. We apologize for the delay in shipping product and expect to fulfill all remaining rebate submissions by the end of June, 2009. Please do not reply to this email box as it is not being monitored. Thank you for your patience.

So maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Guess we'll know by the end of June.
