Do these sets have a 16:9 mode (like Sony Wegas)? My research thus far is yielding conflicting results. Specifically, I'm looking at the CT-36SL13 36" Tau Series PureFlat model.... Any help would be appreciated!

I have an older model Tau (about 3 years old) which does the anamorphic squeeze. At the time all Tau's 32 inches and up had the squeeze function while those lower than 32 inches did not. You might want to go to your local Circuit City, Best Buy, etc. and experiment with the sets there. You can easily get into the menu and see if the TV has the squeeze feature.

(By the way, the 16x9 anamorphic squeeze is triggered automatically when the TV detects a DVD player that is playing an anamorphic DVD.)

I think the current models only allow for 16:9 when displaying 1080i. Getting an answer straight from Panasonic/Matsushita is next to impossible, and the company's Web site is of no use.
