I'm considering purchasing the RP62 to replace my DV-414. My TV is the Tosh 50H81. Should I see/hear an appreciable difference in quality?
As side notes, it will be used 99% for DVD viewing only, so CD playing, etc., are not important considerations.
Also, I read that the 82 is superior to the 62, but I really don't want to spend any more than the 62. Is the 62 so inferior to the 82 that I should just wait a few months?
Thanks for any & all input :)

I've had both a 62 and a 82. The 82 is far and away the better player. Better picture quality and more features (including DVD-A). The price difference between a 62 and 82 is only $30 and it's well worth it. The 82 is out now.

You will notice a pretty large difference. The 414 doesn't have a very good picture, IMO.

After reading the numerous issues with discs on Pioneer players in the software forum (assuming mostly older units, but some new ones also), I would have to recommend against any Pioneer player at this time. I have been trying to get my hands on an 82 this past week, and have had no luck, a number places are out of stock.
