Another question: Would good old video essentials be fine for calibrating this projector or should I go to Digital Video Essentials? Thanks!

One final thing re: using the vcr as tuner--to do this do I just run the incoming cable signal to the back of the vcr coax in jack and then run composite or s-video from the back of the vcr to the projector? Thanks!!!

Yes that's correct.

Chris, I've heard you should get the High Power screen, as the high contrast matte white's wrinkles and waves will affect the picture.
