I have one of those Panasonic fold-out flyers from the Sunday newspaper. The "TH-50PX60" (without the 'U' designation) is identified to have "1080p digital processing chip-set & re-mastering processor." I've checked their website and the "TH-50PX60U" doesn't mention anything about 1080p. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks.

This is what I would bet: it accepts a 1080i signal, but not 1080p. But because all digital displays are progressive by nature, it deinterlaces the 1080i signal and does end up processing and displaying a 1080p signal.
