Since I can't find any user information on this player, I'm assuming it's new. Does anyone know if this player includes/ uses the Farjouda video chip?

No it doesn't use the Farjouda chip. Panasonic has revamped their product line to compete with cheaper import players. None of Panasonics new lineup of players will have the Farjouda chip.
