This is something that is driving me crazy. Initially I did not have a screen to use my new projector (AE-2000U), thus I had taken my PS3 and the projector to a friend's place to tryout. The picture was absolutely brilliant, but I digress. I noticed that each time the projector received a signal it would display, in the right, upper corner, the name of the relevant input and the resolution of the signal, for eg. when I played the the Planet Earth Blu-ray disc, the projector displayed in the upper right corner, the following: 'HDMI 1' and '1080/24p'. In fact the projector displayed this information each time it sensed the signal dissapear and reappear. I at the time had thought that it is a nice feature.

Anyhow, I now have a screen at home and finally I am able to watch movies via the PS3 on the AE-2000U, but for some reason the projector no longer displays the information mentioned above, instead it simply shows a diagram of the various input options instead. I have changed no setting on the PS3 or the projector and I can't understand why or what has changed between when I used the projector at my friend's house and now. Can someone please firstly confirm that the AE-2000U does display this information, for I am seriously starting to believe that maybe I just imagined it and/or dreamed it up. Althouhg I have confirmed from my friend and he too remembers seeing the info displayed and the fact that I had even mentioned it. Secondly can someone please tell me how I can get the projector to display that info.

Something may have magically glitched somewhere. I know my old (4-5 gens old) Panasonic projector has a number of options for the OSD in the menus.

No idea what the PS-3 has, but it shouldn't be from that.

Still hoping someone will be able to help solve this mystery.

PS: Just found out today that Planet Earth BD is encoded in 1080i and the 1080p is just a misprint on the cover. But my PS3 has been incorrectly playing the disc in 24p which means that either the Auto function for 24p encoded BDs does not quite work correctly on the PS3 or the Planet Earth BD is flagged incorrectly for 24p. I wonder if this also helps explain the other mystery regarding my viewing of PLanet Earth on the projector via the PS3, I have been wondering about the excessive judder/jitter during pan shots and why it is there.
