I saw this demonstration last night for this new Dutch Boy paint and I can't believe how much cleaner and simpler it makes paint pouring and storing. I've grown weary of trying to get all of the paint out of the lip of the can so it doesn't splatter or get all crusty. I'm giving some serious thought to buying this stuff, in spite of the higher cost. I've never used Dutch Boy paints. Any comments on the quality of the paint itself? I'm going to have to paint some exterior window trim and then the entire interior of the house.

I'm not sure if this thread will head anywhere but I for one think that is a great innovation. I can't believe nobody was doing this already.

The way I was taught was to get a hammer and a nail and poke holes through the gap. The excess just drips back into the can. A lot cheaper!

I think it's a great idea. I'm painting my room right now, and I hate how the lids won't fit properly after you've painted cuz of all the dried paint in the lid lip, really frosts' my nuts!

I don't know where they sell it. I think the Dutch Boy web site has a searchable database of its retailers. Here in Illinois it's sold at Menard's home improvement stores.
