Pacific Rim: Uprising Blu-ray Review
pacificrim2-1024x576.jpg

The highly-anticipated follow-up to Guillermo del Toro's giant robots versus giant monsters fan favorite, Pacific Rim: Uprising is a bit of a disappointment, with co-writer and director Steven S. DeKnight taking the saga into more familiar, Transformers territory.

Hoping to watch this tonight in 3D. As discussed elsewhere, Best Buy has an exclusive 4K/3D/Blu combo pack at $27.99 this week.

Decent 3D, but nothing really noticeable as far as popouts or such. I agree the LFE could have been a bit stronger when you have giant monsters and robots clashing with buildings falling all around. I had more LFE action from The Hurricane Heist last night.

The film itself was pretty meh. Surprisingly little kaiju/jaeger action considering that's the basis of the story.

For some reason I can’t access the review and this may have been mentioned already. The 3D disc actually has the commentary and extras on it. Usually it only has the movie — nice touch.
