Outside of the amplification, what is the difference between the Rotel 1065 and 1055? (1 Viewer)

i was looking at both units, and they seem very very similar and I was just wondering if the only difference is the amp section?

I was not comparing it to the 1066, i am trying to get info comparing to the rsx-1065 receiver.

The 1055 is newer then the 1065 and there are a few differences other then amp power. I've been told that Rotels working on the 1065's replacement so I'd either buy the 1055 or hold off till the new model comes out. Check with Arnold here about his problems with the 1065 before you buy it.

The differences between the 1065 and the 1055 are big and not so big at the same time.
I don't know the differences on DAC's en DSP's, Rotel doesn't provide that info.
The options on both machines are identical. The way the machines operates and the setup are also almost identical. A few minor differences:
- the 1055 can re-direct the amps from the front- to the centerbackspeakers, the 1065 can't do this;
- the 1065 has a display with 2 lines of information, the 1055 had one line. I like the display of the 1065.

The big difference is the bigger power. It's really a big difference, both in details as in impact of the sound. For that I favor the 1065 alot above the 1055.

But, indeed as Andrew wrote, I have some problems with the 1065. The firmware issues that apply on the 1055 model, also are valid for the 1065.
One big problem with the 1065 I experience is that the signal for the centerspeaker is leaking to the surrounds. I don't know yet whether this is a hardware problem or a software problem. I reported this issue to Rotel and I'm waiting for their response. The 1055 does not suffer from this issue.
If Rotel can solve this problem, and I certainly hope so, I definitely favor the 1065.
