Does anyone out there use the 770 with say for example, 4 Ohm fronts, and 6 Ohm center/surrounds? I've read the quote "there's only so much power a single unit can put out", and was wondering if anyone has had any problems with this type of setup. The 770 is stated to have 300WPC for all 7 channels if the loads are at 4 Ohms. The reason why I'm asking is because I'm thinking about making the setup below, and wanted your experience and opinions:

    Outlaw 950/770
    Mains: Axiom M80TiSe's - 4 Ohm; 400W power handling
    Center: Axiom VP150Se - 6 Ohm; 400W power handling
Sides and Rears: QS8's - 6 Ohm; 400W power handling

Now, would the limiting factor be the 770 as I get the system louder and louder? or will the 770 power those speakers up to insane listening levels?

    Thanks for your help!

    Mat_M,

The Outlaw 770 will be plenty of power for that setup. The chances of you actually having a situation where the amp would even try to output 300W to all 7 channels at once is aproximiately .000001%. [IMG] And even if that were the case, you'd need a dedicated 20A circuit just for the 770. You might find this thread interesting. Also keep in mind the Axiom speakers are pretty darn efficient, at 300W those M80's would probably make your ears bleed.

I have the Outlaw 770 (and Rotel 1066) with M60's, VP150, M3's, and a single QS8, and I'm very happy with the setup. I don't think you'll be disapointed in the performance of the 770.

[IMG] Awesome, that's exactly what kind of evidence I needed
to get the WAF positive for the big purchases.
    Anyone else?

    What Jeff said [IMG]

I have a 770 as well and it seems extremely robust...the speakers and amp have more 'headroom' than my ears...
