I also predicted ROTK would have no chance in hell of winning. I might have to get some extra Pickapeppa sauce for that crow.
My reasons were given earlier in the thread, but basically I felt that Academy voters would view ROTK as "old hat", "been there done that", and no longer new and novelty. I didn't buy the argument that they would honor LOTR as a "body of work" by voting enthusiastically for ROTK, especially since FOTR and TTT went home empty-handed.
I might yet be proved right. Lost in Translation and Mystic River both have some interesting momentum. But ROTK is the frontrunner, and DJ! Hit it like it's hot!!
