Since this is Edsub's domain ([IMG] ...sorry Ed, could not resist) ... I usually don't post here...

But Since I am selling the Pb2+ and getting the B4+ ... thought I would say hey ! ..

    Question... K1 ? ... or K2 ? ...

I have two thoughts on this matter.

    First thought:
I recall Tom V. saying something about the B4+ starting to show the effects of thermal (power) compression at around 1800W. Therefore seven hundred of a bridged K2's watts will be relatively useless.

    Second thought:
You KNOW very well that sooner or latter you will be testing an Everest, B-Deap32, or something else crazy. Buying the K2 will guarantee that you will be ready.

Travis ... You are right... anyone who only keeps a great subwoofer set up for 3 months then upgrades is sick...[IMG]

Evan ... The B4+ got the wife's approval... my older brother makes some killer pro audio subs... the b-deap is similar in performance to some of their stuff... and zero WAF ... hehe

    Craig,

It's guys like you that keep spreading the terrible, very contagious disease - UPGRADITIS! Every time you post a thread I have to tell myself, "My PC+ is fine, my PC+ is fine."[IMG]

And I used to think that another one wouldn't fit, but, if I move the entertainment center a little to the left.....[IMG]

Remember Craig - you used to live in my town. If we can play nice in the sand box together, there's a chance for a visit, a demo, and a Nick Tahoe's Garbage Plate the next time you are up north. [IMG]

Seriously, congrats and to be honest, I privately predicted a B4-Plus or a PB2-Ultra for you about two months ago. You ARE a true basshead, and don't let those weiners at AVS get you down in your threads.

Oh....the amp. Crown K1 or QSC RMX 1850. Don't need more than 1800 watts. It will absorb more, but you won't get a linear SPL increase above 2000 watts due to thermal power compression. At 2500 watts, odd order HD spikes even as even-order stays lower, indicating you have definitely reached the clean limits of the drivers.

I am sure your brother can have one of his beasts encased in a furniture quality finish, if not by his company, then by a cabinet maker. Does your brother's company have a website?

Ed ... I actually had the PB2-Ultra ordered, but switched it to + because Tom V. pointed out that pair would have superior firepower... and there was that back order problem... and when da wife tells you to order a B4+ ...

By the way... hopefully Edsub made you chuckle... thanks for the encouragement on AVS... even Curtis has long since abandoned the trolls... (not saying you WERE one Curtis...hehe)

Evan - My brother looked over some of the threads regarding home theater subwoofers... he has zero interest (he thinks consumers are nuts, can you imagine ?) in the home theater market... even in building something custom for me... they are just swamped !

George ... SS is the queen of the line-up... I wanted the King... [IMG]

If anything at all, the sub reviews and threads are entertaining. Remember...they are just subs.

I will have a natural blond PB1+ here next week to play with for a little while, then it goes to my Parents or their friends' for a permanent home. The friends will be replacing a PB1-ISD, so I am hoping to hear that as well.

George - You are only 90 miles from me... how does a mint PB2+ for $1000 sound (instead of me trading it in...) I still have the boxes

Tee, When the B4+ is within 1 incb on each domension of the Sofa table the wife wants, and SHE gets excited and tells you to order it... you are having a good day !
