Optoma has unveiled two new “lightning fast”, low-latency 4K UHD gaming and home entertainment projectors, the UHD35 ($1,299) and UHD38 ($1,399). Claimed to improve on the former UHD30 model, the two projectors incorporate a single-chip DLP light engine and produce 8.3m on-screen pixels with 3,600 and 4,000 lumens of brightness, respectively. Stereoscopic fans will be pleased that there is 3D Blu-ray support.
An onboard Enhanced Gaming Mode enables input lag response times ranging from 16.7ms @60Hz on 4K UHD sources through to 4.2ms on 1080p material @240Hz. Presenting a maximum 300-inch projected image size with DCI-P3 color support, both models include horizontal and vertical keystone correction (with four-corner correction), dual HDMI 2.0 inputs and HDR10 and HLG compatibility. As well as a 12v trigger, there is a 15,000 hour lamp life and a claimed 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio available with Dynamic Black mode engaged.
